Pitman In Team Of The Week (13/11/17)

Pitman In Team Of The Week (13/11/17)

Portsmouth are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Brett Pitman in the three two victory over Blackpool at the weekend at Bloomfield Road was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Pitman was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Portsmouth ran out 3-2 winners away at Blackpool in a game that provided drama right up until the end of proceedings. Pitman struck twice for Pompey including the winning goal, just four minutes from time, to send the visitors up to 11th in the standings.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Pitman for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Remi Matthews (Plymouth Argyle), Danny Grainger (Carlisle United), Ryan Inniss (Colchester United), Steve Old (Morecambe), Lee Holmes (Exeter City), Alex MacDonald (Mansfield Town), Neal Bishop (Scunthorpe United), Peter Pawlett (MK Dons), Harry Anderson (Lincoln City), Brett Pitman (Portsmouth), Chris Long (Northampton Town).

Manager - Derek Adams (Plymouth Argyle).

Fine, for a temporary option

Such is his ability Jackett decided to switch Clarke to the problematic left back spot against Blackpool - this isn't a permanent solution for the former Ipswich man though.
