Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities - past or present - who have a birthday on this day.

6/10/1889: Harold Buddery
6/10/1930: Brian Edwards
6/10/1951: David Gregory

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Harold Buddery, Brian Edwards and David Gregory - the Pompey players from the Blues' past born on this day.

I would be lying if I said I knew much about Gregory and/or Edwards, as I cannot say I do with Buddery most definitely before my - and anyone else's of course - time seen as he was born back in 1889.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played - 14
Won - 8
Drawn - 2
Lost - 4

Not too many games actually played on this day in the last 20-years or so but I can claim the most recent as my only one.

I do remember MK Dons pretty well, a game we should have won really but a draw at the stadium:mk was still a decent result in 2012. However, it was the game where Adam Webster 'lost it' as a Pompey player with his confidence draining away after an own goal - fortunately he 'found it' again though and the rest is history.

What are your memories of Buddery - clearly too early for anyone, Edwards and/or Gregory from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today - if so what are the memories from them too?

Back to 73 and Oxford. Memories - as Copnor said Phil Ashworth and the 5-0 thrashing on the plastic pitch at Loftus Road - the first ever English cup game on plastic!

Character at Charlton praised

Pompey had to work hard but given the chances we had a victory at the Valley was probably warranted against Charlton on Saturday.

Revenge, a quarter of a century in the making

What did I say? I wasn't entirely sure what way it would go - I did think there would be a winner - but eventually stuck my neck out and said Pompey would sneak it at Charlton.
