Kennedy deadline day arrival number four

Kennedy deadline day arrival number four

Matty Kennedy has become the fourth Pompey arrival on transfer deadline day - surely he'll be the last...

The Scottish U21 international has joined the Blues on a season-long loan from Cardiff.

Kenny Jackett told portsmouthfc.co.uk: 'Matty's a very skilful attacking midfielder with the great ability to go past players. He also has a good record of assists and will be able to provide for our strikers with quality crosses.'

Having impressed the boss against Pompey in the League Cup, one of three appearances Kennedy made for Cardiff this season, Jackett is sure he'll have an impact at Fratton Park, much as he did on loan at Plymouth during the last campaign.

Adding: 'He played against us in the Carabao Cup and produced an impressive performance, so I'm sure he'll be a very effective player for us.'

Kennedy started his career in his homeland at Kilmarnock before his ability caught the eye of Everton, heading to the Cardiff City Stadium in 2015.
