Cardiff cancelled with Crawley added

Cardiff cancelled with Crawley added

Arguably the highlight of Pompey's away pre-season schedule, well, no arguably about it, Cardiff at the Cardiff City Stadium was, is now off.

This friendly has unsurprisingly been cancelled.

From the moment Pompey and Cardiff were paired in the League Cup last week this proposed friendly in late July was a no-no - this afternoon the cancellation was officially confirmed.

A summer trip to Cardiff wouldn't have been a bad thing at all but it wasn't to be. Obviously, with all due respect, heading to Crawley's Broadfield Stadium isn't going to be the same but they've stepped into that breach.

That being said a few beers and a Saturday afternoon in the sunshine in Sussex isn't necessarily a bad thing - pre-season is about us fans getting in training too!

Pompey, having twice beaten Crawley last season, 3-0 at Fratton Park and the reverse 2-0, will travel to the Broadfield Stadium on Saturday 29th July, kick off will be at 3pm.
