From the Ed

A birthday free day today so straight onto the games previously played.

Played - 21
Won - 8
Drawn - 4
Lost - 9

Not too much in the 21 games played but with an 8:9 ratio of wins to defeats we've still lost more than anything else - the other 4 have been drawn.

I claim three today - the 1-0 defeat to Bury in 2015 along with a 2-1 loss against Aston Villa, both at Fratton Park. The third was a 1-0 win over Bolton in 2009, also at Fratton.

What are your memories of the games previously played today?

Duo sign professional Pompey deals

Will Jez Bedford and Theo Widdrington be the future Pompey midfield? We'll certainly hope so, clearly the Blues do too or they wouldn't have signed professional deals at Fratton Park.

Nathan Thompson - A Swindon perspective

Prior to his departure for Wigan, Paul Cook wanted Nathan Thompson at Pompey. Interest was retained by Kenny Jackett, who completed his free transfer signing from Swindon last week.

Main man for Pompey? I wouldn't think so

Harsh? Maybe, but do I really feel ex-Middlesbrough, Doncaster and Oldham forward Main will be in Pompey's 1st team, becoming a key member of Jackett's starting XI? Well, no.
