Match Day Officials v Notts County (17/4/17)

Match Day Officials v Notts County (17/4/17)

The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game against Notts County this Monday.

Portsmouth travel to Notts County on Monday April 17 for the game at Meadow Lane and the match carries a 3pm kick off.

Referee: Graham Salisbury
Linesmen: Joe Simpson and Joe Clark
Fourth Official: Iain Siddall

Match Day referee Salisbury has officiated 34 games in 2016/17 with a return of 107 yellow cards and five red cards.

His highest card count this season so far has been six yellows in the game between Newport County and Barnet.

He took in 35 matches last season and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he handed out a total of 120 yellow cards and eight red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Barnet and Luton in March where he showed eight yellow cards. Bury and Wigan Athletic in October saw seven yellows being shown and one red and he repeated that trick in April in the game between Hartlepool and Mansfield.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.

Duo sign professional Pompey deals

Will Jez Bedford and Theo Widdrington be the future Pompey midfield? We'll certainly hope so, clearly the Blues do too or they wouldn't have signed professional deals at Fratton Park.

Nathan Thompson - A Swindon perspective

Prior to his departure for Wigan, Paul Cook wanted Nathan Thompson at Pompey. Interest was retained by Kenny Jackett, who completed his free transfer signing from Swindon last week.

Main man for Pompey? I wouldn't think so

Harsh? Maybe, but do I really feel ex-Middlesbrough, Doncaster and Oldham forward Main will be in Pompey's 1st team, becoming a key member of Jackett's starting XI? Well, no.
