Video - Stevenage 3-0 Pompey

Pompey were beaten by Stevenage in league two on Saturday.

Despite starting pretty well Pompey were second best for most of the 90 minutes against Stevenage with Jack King, Matt Godden and Jobi McAnuff - who again tormented the Blues as he always does - goals securing the points in a 3-0 win.

Pompey's miserable afternoon was compounded by the sending off of Christian Burgess and an embarrassing late penalty miss from Conor Chaplin, this was our fifth spot kick miss in a row and seventh of the season.

Thankfully other results - aside from this one obviously - went in Pompey's favour with Stevenage now our closest rivals having closed to within four points with Plymouth seven clear of the Blues.

Duo sign professional Pompey deals

Will Jez Bedford and Theo Widdrington be the future Pompey midfield? We'll certainly hope so, clearly the Blues do too or they wouldn't have signed professional deals at Fratton Park.

Nathan Thompson - A Swindon perspective

Prior to his departure for Wigan, Paul Cook wanted Nathan Thompson at Pompey. Interest was retained by Kenny Jackett, who completed his free transfer signing from Swindon last week.

Main man for Pompey? I wouldn't think so

Harsh? Maybe, but do I really feel ex-Middlesbrough, Doncaster and Oldham forward Main will be in Pompey's 1st team, becoming a key member of Jackett's starting XI? Well, no.
