Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities - past or present - who have a birthday on this day...

18/3/1937: Harry Middleton
18/3/1984: Gary Roberts

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Harry Middleton and Gary Roberts - the Pompey players from the Blues' past born on this day.

Middleton was well before my time but I think it safe to say we all know Roberts! I suspect he'll return to the starting XI today so a birthday performance would be nice.

Now onto the games previously played ahead of the trip to Stevenage later.

Played - 13
Won - 5
Drawn - 4
Lost - 4

Not really too much in it but from the 13 games so far Pompey have managed 5 wins to 4 draws and defeats - lets hope it'll be win no.6 or at least draw 5 this afternoon!

Remember that West Ham game over a decade ago but wasn't at it. But I can claim the 3-1 win against Crewe at Gresty Road back in 2000. I'll not be at Stevenage later today though.

What are your memories Middleton - probably too early I would think - and/or Roberts from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today - if so what are the memories from them too?

06&78..missed 89..06 was to tick off Upton Park as I hadn't been there & what a game Pedro scored another screamer..Teddy S scored for W.Ham,great result part of the great escape.Even saw myself on MOTD as I was directly behind the goal.78 was Garwood's first goal for Pompey & it was scored in the Milton End...Roberts 33 & in the last few games he looks it,off the pace.Lets hope he can pick up for these last 9 games & get us over the line

Harry Middleton was an attacker who played all his games in the autumn of 1961 as Pompey went on the Third Division title. He scored a number of goals including four in a 4-2 League Cup win at Derby. He came from Scunny and moved on to Shrewsbury and scored goals wherever he went.

With Burgess, Clarke and Whatmough ahead of him Davies' chances at Pompey are limited, especially if Swindon's Thompson completes move to Fratton Park - Davies could join Tranmere?
