Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities - past or present - who have a birthday on this day...

14/8/1933: Ralph Hunt
14/8/1933: Alf Noakes

From the ed: Now, I remember going to the Plymouth game although I cannot remember too much of it!

I do recall being the main cheerleader trying to get the singing going though! I am not usually that vocal, singing wise - more so away - but that shows how much moonshine I had consumed...

Remember more about Reading, the only other one for me on this day!

What about you?

Can you claim to have been in attendance for any of these games, if so share your thoughts below on any stories you have...

Vivid memories of going to Oxford in 1993. Having sold Guy Whittingham, we brought in Lee Chapman, who despite scoring twice we couldn't avoid defeat. This was a team that at the end of the previous season had the heartbreak of losing in the play-offs after missing promotion to the newly named Premier League. Also there in 2004 when we drew with Brum & Robbie Savage scored from a free kick that beat Shaka.

Yes Oxford, Matt, I don't think Lee liked his terrace tune - NaNaNaNa NaNaNaNa NaNaNaNa CHAPMAN! Don't know how we lost that game either but it wa a good day out...

As said above just Plymouth - not that I remember much - and Reading for me today.

Big Ben returns!

There's no doubting how important Davies is to us, we most definitely missed the former Sheffield United man against Orient but Cook's confirmed he'll start against Bristol Rovers.

Winning over the fans

Cook feels he still has to 'win over a proportion' of the fans at Pompey?

Tubbs surprised...in a way he has a point

5-goals in a combined total of 8-matches isn't a bad return is it so having made his move to Eastleigh this week I get Tubbs' point at his surprise Cook wasn't selecting him.

Pompey Predictions League - update no.28

The Pompey predictions league is very much part of this site now! This continued with a defeat to Orient last Saturday.
