Posh in the cup? Not that bothered!

Posh in the cup? Not that bothered!

The votes have been cast, with these counted and verified to confirm that the league cup meeting with Peterborough is not one that many are 'than bothered by' according to the Vital Pompey readers.

I know that league two WILL be our priority next season but I am always one that enjoys the cup competitions, especially the FA cup, so I will be hoping that we can beat Peterborough at Fratton when we meet them in the cup and can advance a couple of rounds.

We could well have faced an 'easier' side, but at the same time could have got a 'harder' team too.

What the poll asked - Happy with Peterborough in the cup?

How you voted - Not that bothered to be honest 85%
Yep 15%
Nope 0%

I am not unhappy to face Posh, in terms of who they are I would agree that I am not 'too bothered', in terms of winning the game I would want this and suspect most other VP readers and voters would too.

The 'not that bothered to be honest' thoughts are more concerned with our opponent; as opposed to what we want the result to be I am sure.

Thoughts?

new user here, looking forward to the new season! i agree that the league is a priority but an early win against a team a league higher than us would be a great morale boost for the lads! PUP!

Yep, I too - like most of us - am really looking forward to next season and also totally agree about the boost and early season cup win could bring us, lets hope we see just that!

Solving that goalie quandary

I'm not sure our problem with finding a 'regular' no.1 last season was behind our failure to gain promotion from league two was it? Clearly it didn't help mind.

Pompey's attacking intent

Something Pompey (attacking intent) will look to show next season to get out of league two once and for all. Smith came in from Swindon last week but Cookie wants another striker.
