Ferry sails away along with Sullivan

Pompey announced two departures today, one that was completely expected another that has come as quite a surprise...

Talks over John Sullivan's contract being terminated had taken place all week with it today confirmed that he was leaving by 'mutual content'.

Also leaving, quite surprisingly, is Simon Ferry.

Andy Awford confirmed the departures of both today on The Pompey Site, admitting that Ferry was finding it difficult to settle in the south with a return to the north - back in Scotland - something that was wanted by both himself and his family.

'Unfortunately, Simon and his family have not been able to settle in the south and for personal reasons he has decided to move back up north.

'Hopefully he will be able to return to full fitness and go on to have a successful career.

'It was a mutual agreement with both players and we wish them well for the future.'

Ferry was sidelined by injury for large periods of last season but showed what he could offer, and when fit it was plenty.

As good as he was; I do think that we can cope without him and given his injury problems it might be for the best that he moved on and his wages were used on someone that would be more likely to string together a series of games.

Best of luck to the pair though, Ferry was very complimentary on Twitter when leaving - lets hope that his thoughts that we can/will secure promotion next season will prove correct.

Fans favourite Colchester MotM...Exeter tomorrow

I do not think we can deny Chaplin made an impact when he came on against Colchester but as much as I love the guy (and think he's got an awesome future) was he really the MotM?
