A dozen leave Pompey

Decisions have been made on the out of contract, or will be this summer, players at Fratton.

Andy Awford has decided that 9 of the 1st team squad from last season are not part of his plans going forward so they have been informed they are not getting offered new deals.

Leaving are...

George Branford
Ashley Harris
Jake Jervis
Yassin Moutaouakil
Marcos Painter
Thery Racon
Phil Smith
Liam Triggs
Josh Warren

Not too many surprises really, right?

I would guess that Smith being released means that John Sullivan is coming back after his loan spell with Cambridge.

Also moving on, well returning to their parent clubs, are the players we had on loan to end the season...

Daniel Alfei (Swansea)
Trevor Carson (Bury)
Michael Drennan (Aston Villa)
Danny Hollands (Charlton)

I would expect that Carson will be coming back when his deal with Bury ends at the end of next month and all being well so will Hollands?

Talks, in the hopes of agreeing new deals with them, are carrying on with...

Jed Wallace
Nicky Shorey
Bondz N'Gala
Nick Awford
Jack Maloney

Also staying at Fratton next season, after the option to extend their deals for the year that we had in our favour, will be...

Ryan Bird
Adam Webster

1-year professional contracts have been added to these academy graduates...

Ben Close
Bradley Tarbuck

But it has been decided that these academy players do not have a future at Fratton and have been released...

Jae Heon Kim
Harry Medway
Lewis Horsburgh

Awford had this to say on The Pompey Site: 'I'd like to thank all of the released players for their service to this club and wish them every success for the future.'

What do we make of this then guys?
