Pompey predictions league update #40

Pompey predictions league update #40

The Pompey predictions league continued last weekend at Newport.

We made hard work of it at times, even again 10-men and then 9-men!

Also looking a bit nervy and edgy in the end - which is understandable really - but the main thing was Andy Awford's 1st game back in caretaker charge ended with a vital 2-1 win.

Others results went our way so we open up a 5pts gap on the relegation places.

A good number collected points for thinking I would be a much needed Pompey win, so heart ruling head wins out!

The top 2 got nothing but 3rd place closes the gap slightly.

Even with nothing scored uspompeyfan keeps them top for a 4th game running, staying on 170pts in total.

Nothing for toffee74 either but they keep 2nd on 140pts.

The 5pts from Jimsmithswig keeps them 3rd but they move onto 135pts overall.

This is how the table, of over 30, currently stands:

Newport, and its outcome, also meant that the predictor for March would be known and a monthly haul of 45pts uspompeyfan, Jimsmithswig and khodgkins could not be separated.

As there can be only one winner, after being drawn at random, Jimsmithswig won this.

Baker has a Pompey future... apparently

A few eyebrows were raised when Carl Baker, who continues to be linked with Coventry, was left out of the squad to face Walsall. I think we've all see then social media reaction?

Improvement needed

Milan Lalkovic, making his last appearance for Pompey since January, prior to a loan switch to Ross County, returned from injury to face his former club Walsall on Saturday.

Match highlights - Pompey 1-1 Walsall

Pompey are still unbeaten at Fratton Park - recovering from the defeat at Oxford - but unlike the Rochdale win we had to settle for a point after a 1-1 draw against Walsall on Saturday.
