Hollands open to Pompey stay

Hollands open to Pompey stay

It seems that Danny Hollands was lined up by Richie Barker before he was sacked with Andy Awford following up this interest on deadline day last week to bring him in on loan from Charlton until the end of the season.

A player known to Awford made it an easy interest to follow up

Hollands is something of a 'relegation specialist', having helped Torquay and Bournemouth avoid relegation previously - he is looking to add us to the list!

Although he was keen to point out to the News today that he is more than just this relegation specialist as he has also helped sides to promotion, including Bournemouth and I would guess Charlton as they went up from league one to the championship the other year.

This is something he could be helping us to next season?

His contract expires in the summer so he becomes a free agent and knows he is 'on trial' at the moment but has already suggested that he could make Fratton his home, if he is wanted long-term...

He made an impressive enough debut, by all accounts, but I think it is definitely too soon to be deciding if he is someone we want to sign - for starters we need to stay in the football league and then we need to know what the manager, whoever that might be, thinks of him.

Continuing to impress over the next half a dozen games would help his chances though.

Training ground developments

Further news on a training ground move were revealed today, more positive moves from this club with this something that really should have been sorted many years ago when we were a premier league side.

Then again, had we sorted this in the past no doubt it would have been another area owned by one of the former owners!

More on this issue here on VP as the week progresses.

300 more Daggers tickets

The Pompey allocation of 1200 tickets for our trip to Dagenham shortly sold out within 6-hours of going on sale.

Such has been the demand from the Fratton faithful that more have been made available.

Dagenham, who would clearly benefit as they are able to welcome more to the area who will not only bring money into the club with ticket sales but could bring money into the club with food and drink - the local economy will benefit without a doubt from the booze sold pre-game and maybe post-game too!

Another 300 tickets will go on sale, and mostly likely sell out in no time, from 10pm tomorrow.
