Would You Loan Again? - No.3 Carl Dickinson

We currently have a centre half (Devera) covering at left back and his cover is a crock (Painter) a thirty odd slow old timer (Cooper) and a utility player who the jury is still out on (East).

So although it might be ok for now what happens if we lose N'Gala or Bradley to injury and Devera has to play his normal role.

Would you be happy with the options we have or would you feel that a player such as Carl Dickinson who has helped us out twice in the past could (hypothetically) do a job again ?

Post your thoughts below.

Footnote: Dickinson isn't available for a loan .. he's current playing as a Centre Half for Port Vale in League One.

Saw he was with Port Vale.
Quite simply NO I wouldnt have him back...
Absolutely awful footballer, gave 100% every time and wanted to be on the pitch but was useless.
If all the other option above were ruled out then we still have Dan Butler, who for my money is a better option than most anyway!
Thanks Dicko, but hope the only time we would ever be likely see you at Fratton again would be as a visiting player.

So .. you'd turn down a League One player with bags of experience and a real committed approach to see Marcos Painter be our regular left back ??

I'm just playing Devils Advocate !.. Somebody out there might want to see 'Dicko' grace the hallowed turf again

No way, apart from enthusiasm he is one of teh worst players ever to grace the fratton park pitch, he would be lucky if he did not get booked walking onto the pitch.

Ahh poor old Dicko ... Can't say I'm surprised .. maybe I'll do Jamie O'Hara as the next in the series lol ... Is anybody gonna give Dicko any credit ... other than for his enthusiasm ??

There were good things about Carl Dickinson - his workrate, enthusiasm, the way he would run over to encourage the crowd at the start of a match, always sign autographs for kids, etc. I really wanted to like him as a player, but he was AWFUL! So no, I would not have him back,

Sorry but agree with the above. Great bloke, shame his football didn't match his enthusiasm.

Only in as much as he was a decent bloke .. I think his footballing ability (or lack of it) is pretty well decided .. lol

"So .. you'd turn down a League One player with bags of experience and a real committed approach to see Marcos Painter be our regular left back ??" What would Painter's description have been last season...a championship player with bags of experience? You've created a debate, but based on a terrible, TERRIBLE suggestion! (Yes, it's a no from me;) )
