Month with Havant for Harris

Month with Havant for Harris

Another Pompey player has been sent out on loan with Ashley Harris joining Havant on loan for a month, well 5-weeks.

I know that Chix is going to be disappointed, as he was looking forward to seeing him given a possible chance with the 1st team ;-)

Harris needs some football, he was meant to be going to Aldershot recently but an injury setback curtailed that move. For whatever reason - that injury included - that chance of 1st team football has not happened this season.

If he has a long-term future at Fratton remains to be seen but without some football under his belt nothing will change at all...

With that in mind this has to be viewed as a positive thing, right?

To be honest, and I have to be honest, I do not think that Harris has probably developed as it was hoped he would when he first came into the 1st team set-up back along.

Maybe playing out wide, when a central role is perhaps his best position, has not helped?

Going out and playing some football can only be a good thing though for a player that despite being only 19 is our longest serving player! Shows just how much change we have seen in the past few years...

If Ashley's work rate, effort and enthusiasm can be matched with ability then Pompey will not go far wrong and he can still have a part to play with Pompey going forward.

Duo sign professional Pompey deals

Will Jez Bedford and Theo Widdrington be the future Pompey midfield? We'll certainly hope so, clearly the Blues do too or they wouldn't have signed professional deals at Fratton Park.

Nathan Thompson - A Swindon perspective

Prior to his departure for Wigan, Paul Cook wanted Nathan Thompson at Pompey. Interest was retained by Kenny Jackett, who completed his free transfer signing from Swindon last week.

Main man for Pompey? I wouldn't think so

Harsh? Maybe, but do I really feel ex-Middlesbrough, Doncaster and Oldham forward Main will be in Pompey's 1st team, becoming a key member of Jackett's starting XI? Well, no.
