'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Steps forward for club and economy

Portsmouth Football Club continues to make strides forward, well and truly off-the-pitch as we will be hoping we can on it this season!

A deal with Tesco to have Fratton redeveloped has been a long-term option and now a deal has been signed with the company to build a supermarket next to Fratton Park for us to take the first steps towards this all being well...

The benefits to this are not just limited to the club, the local economy will get a boost too with it said that the 5,500 square metre development will create, council approval permitting, some 300 jobs too.

Immediate car and coach parking on the land adjacent to the north stand would come into force with a 'media area' put in place along with a new pedestrian access to the club via Fratton Way and Anson Road and much improved, as is needed, facilities for the disabled.

As long as this proposal is granted the necessary planning permission 'substantial financial investment' will come along, and this can help with the planned upgrades and development with the plan a little further down the line to kick-on with the long-planned Fratton redevelopment.
