Feel-good factor keeps numbers sky high!

Feel-good factor keeps numbers sky high!

Things probably are not going to be quite the 'walk in the park' (no pun intended) that some might think it will be this season, although I am thinking we are going to have a decent and enjoyable season though, but few could deny that there is such a 'feel-good factor' about Portsmouth Football Club at the moment.

In all honesty, as optimistic as I am about our future now and excited as I am getting at the new season arriving soon, I would be lying if I said that it was first and foremost in my mind, or had been!

To be fair I think I had a pretty valid reason to be somewhat distracted...

The final preparations to my wedding had been taking place with this wedding running like a dream (better than either myself of my beautiful wife Trina could have hoped for) last Saturday, we have a honeymoon in Sicily to look forward to in mid-July too.

Nevertheless I always have intended, and still will, be renewing my season ticket and will get this done pretty soon.

But how well are these selling eh!

More than 6,650 have so far been sold. That means we are only about 600 off the amount that was sold last summer, and incredibly from this amount about 30% are 'new season ticket holders' and with a large number existing season ticket holders still to renew, but a large number of them expected to do so, you would expect us to surpass that number?

As it stands we are on course to beat, arguably smash, last seasons 8,080 season ticket sales, with it rising from the summer 7,250 to that amount after the half season sales - in fact it is hoped that we could well end the 2013/14 season having sold around 10,000 season tickets!

Sales in all areas of the club are up, and with all this money now going to the club it is little wonder...

Most fans I talk to have not renewed the STs YET. It looks like the 10,000 target which the Trust are not divulging will be smashed before August 3!!

Congrats to Rug and Trina too!!
