No Pompey return for Bruno

A person that I have always had a lot of time for is Darren Moore.

I liked 'Bruno' - an absolute monster, you did not realise just how massive he was until you walked past him! - when he was a player at Fratton, and was sad when he left us...

Over the years, when he was a player, the odd 'rumour' surfaced of a potential return to Pompey, although this never happened.

It had been suggested that he could even return to the club in a coaching capacity, this was mentioned earlier this summer, if not last season, and with Guy Whittingham still looking to add to his backroom coaching staff his name surfaced again.

Moore has 'ruled himself out' of becoming a 1st team coach at Pompey this summer though.

This decision is not something that Whittingham is overly concerned about, as much as he wants to bring in another coach, as he told The News today that he will not be worried if it is just himself and Steve Allen - promoted to fill a dual physio and assistant manager role - coaching when the players return for pre-season training at the end of the month.

Most importantly Whittingham has to 'get the right person' in, and this is his focus be it a personality with Pompey previous or not...

Bruno was big bloke, met him once before a game when he was out injured, had a good chat. Though even then I thought Linvoy was the better player, which proved to be the case.
