Done deal! 3-year deal for Ertl

We have known it was coming for a week or so now, but it is now 100% official...

Johnny Ertl has signed a new contract with Pompey, a 3-year one at that!

This is what Guy Whittingham said to BBC Radio Solent: 'opposition managers are saying they want a player like Johnny.

'When you get opposition managers saying to you after games 'I wish I had a type of player that Johnny Ertl is, who can spoil things, break things up and who has the energy to burst forward' then you know you've got a player who can do what you want them to do and who you need to have in the team.'

Ertl was immense for us last season, definitely from January onwards, so having him commit his long-term future to us - when he could have easily gone elsewhere - is such a boost for the immediate future and the years ahead as we regroup and rebuild!

Nice one Johnny, I am delighted that you have decided to stay with us - as I am certain pretty much every other Pompey fan will also be...
