Knight returns!

It had been reported that Alan Knight could return to Pompey for another spell, and indeed he has.

The Legend, who had a Pompey playing career spanning a mammoth 20-years plus, is back as our new goalkeeping coach having held such a role, following his retirement, until 2005.

His return is until the end of the season at the moment, although I would imagine if it suits all parties this would be extended when the season ends?

I know coaches and players are different, although it is interesting that a coach can be employed until the end of the season but player contracts are only month-to-month - long-term deals should not be dished out yet but it is a shame we cannot offer some until the end of the season...

Another former player is also looking for a return to Fratton.

Svetoslav Todorov has issued a 'come and get me plea' to Pompey!

What a player he was but I have reservations about a return for the 34-year-old for a variety of reasons, lets just see how this one plays out I guess.

So, The Sun was right about Toddy and a possible return, it was also suggested in the forum that the same report said David James could also have returned in a player/coach role?

That one is now a definite no-go, not that I reckon it had much legs anyway - and legs are something that I worry about Toddy not having anymore...
