Former trialist defender to sign?

Former trialist defender to sign?

Pre-season of 2009 saw a number of players have trials with Pompey, included among them was a certain Eugen Bopp I think?

Another, of the many, was Yassin Moutaouakil.

The fullback, now 26-years-old, was in the process of leaving Charlton at the time but was not offered a contact following this trial spell and ended up joining Motherwell.

More recently The News reports him as having been with non-league outfit Hayes & Yeading but he was 'invited to train' with us and will now be joining us ahead of the weekend?

Quite clearly, having played with Charlton in the topflight, certainly championship - and being a former French U21 international - he has ability, then again so did so many of the previously players we have had and look where that got us!

Injuries, I think, have not been kind to him but if he comes in with the right attitude and commitment, and is on the right money, then his experience could help with the youngsters we are looking to integrate into the 1st team?

I would still like us to continue looking to bring through some of our own younger players, but the balance of this and experience needs to be right of course and it 'seems' that this is now something that is looking to be done in the right way...

To replace Dumbuya methinks. Worth a punt as he was playing non league and is not in a psoition to demand huge wages.
