Another coach moves on but RJR stays

Pompey have lost another member of the backroom staff, and again to Blackburn, making it 3 in recent days to move on...

Strength and conditioning coach Chris Neville has moved on to pastures new.

To clarify my views from the other coaching departures they, like Neville, will be missed but what can you do?

You have to get on with it - I would guess, in all reality, we are falling in line more with a league one (bordering on league two) club really with the types of coaching roles that are filled. Clearly a new goalkeeping coach is needed without a doubt and variations of the other lost rolls need filling, but you would think we have others to adapt into them from what we have...

On-the-field though there is better news that Rocha John Rocha is set to extend his stay with us for another month having verbally agreed a new 1-month deal.

The way I see it RJR will 'probably' stay with us until the summer on rolling contracts, I do not think he would have returned unless he knew it was on a stay until the summer really - well, unless he gets a secured contract offer from elsewhere of course.

Great defender; great personality and leader who offers us plenty.

Going back to the goalkeeping coach position, Guy Whittingham has told The News today that he 'hopes' to fill the vacancy and has spoken to Alan Knight about a return to Fratton, not that this is a dead certainty!

Well if that lot have headed to Blackburn with Hapless Appy then i guess a struggle is on the cards for them! because from what i've seen of their end product this past 15mths Appy and Blackburn are welcome to them, we've lost far far better coaches than them in the past!
