Another two leave Pompey

We have become accustomed to departures from Pompey, especially on-the-field. That said I guess the off-the-field personalities from boardroom to coaching level are hardly 'unusual' in leaving either are they!

It has been players, more than often, in recent times that have been leaving though but it is a couple of the backroom staff that have left this week.

Goalkeeper coach John Keeley and head of recruitment Luke Downing have left Fratton for pastures new.

Clearly Keeley will need replacing but, as much as we would have liked Downing to have fulfilled his role to its fullest, quite what purpose a 'head of recruitment' has had at Pompey in recent times is questionable!

Keeley has already been confirmed as joining Appy at Blackburn, with Downing expected to do likewise - strange that they joined him at Blackburn but had not at Blackpool previously?

Hey ho that is not our concern is it.

Personalities come and go, it is a shame to see the usual 'manager returning to poach them' scenario here but then again that is part and parcel of football!

I thank them for the efforts during their time with us and wish them well but we, as a club, just get on with it now and move on...
