Bah Humbug!
Bloody hell, I feel like scrooge, as all I seem to be doing at the moment is moaning. Sorry, but here I go again with another moan and groan...
I am not trying to round on any one individual(s), and do not like singling people out, but what has happened to Lee Williamson?
His signing was viewed as something of 'a coup' when we got him in the summer. I admit that I was 'pleasantly surprised' at the time.
With him billed as 'the best player in league one' I have been left thinking league one is not up to much!
Why was he so keen to up sticks and leave Sheffield United, where he managed a shed load of goals, for Pompey?
There appears little to no goal threat from him this season, I can barely even recall an effort at goal! There also appears to be minimal effort, or interest, to do much else either to boot!
Are we playing him so badly out of position that it is having such an impact on him?
That said, like I previously mentioned in another article about the players in general, 'the basics' of being a footballer that are required from him should be a given, and a bit of effort and commitment, should be possible, even a given being played 'out of position' or not!
Speaking of playing out of position, funnily enough his most impressive games for me came when he was played at right back...
I hope he makes me eat my words, and by all accounts he was much improved in the 2nd half the other day, but as it stands I can quite safely say that Williamson - and he is not alone by any means, Brian Howard (among others) I am most definitely talking about you my friend! - would be shown the door when his existing monthly contract ends if it were up to me.
Maybe they are 'not up to up' or 'ready yet', and perhaps some of the younger lads we have could not do better, but hell could they really do any worse...
PLAY UP POMPEY!

tbh i had written this article last week sometime, i heard that he was much improved in the 2nd half the other day - but does one 45-minutes make up for the other minutes to date? is the main problem with our midfield howard?
now he definitely SHOULD be offloaded without a doubt!
