Andy Cole "Wanted" to Stay

Andy Cole "Wanted" to Stay

Harry Redknapp told Andy Cole, that he could decide, whether he wanted to join Everton or remain at Fratton Park. West Ham where also interested although no offer was ever made.

Andy Cole joined Pompey in the summer from Man City for £500,000 and has scored four goals.

Redknapp said:

'Really, I just left the decision to him. I thought, 'it is his life and if he feels whatever he feels then so be it'.

'He just wants to play - as he has always been used to. That is what I like about him, and he's happy here. He wants to stay and play.

'Everton were the only ones to make a real approach - there was no contact from West Ham - but he is going nowhere.'

It`s refreshing to see that Andy has committed his future to the club. Harry is likely to re-pay his loyalty by naming him in the starting line-up to face Wigan Saturday.

Probably onto a good thing here with wages. Can't say I'm too impressed with what I've seen of him.
storagematt
well he has shown he can finish
VitalPompeyAdmin
As he has no choice but to put up with what he's told now until the end of the season, it would serve Cole right if Harry sidelined him - that would stop him issue threats to quit if he doesn't play.

If it'll benefit Pompey to keep Cole until the summer at least I'm all for it, he can score we all know this... I'd rather see Cole coming on from the bench though, he's not got many 90 minutes left him in anymore has he. Any more threats issueed from Cole and it would serve him right if 'arry sidelined him although the only winner would be Cole as he'd pick up his good money without having to do anything for it...
pompeyrug
he will start tomorrow

Personally as much as he frustrates me I'd rather see LuaLua start tomorrow alongside Bejani... They seemed to have something developing before injuries last season...
