Pompey Team to Face Middlesborough

After my 15 out of 16 correct prediction last time I am back with another researched, predicted line-up. Portsmouth v Middlesborough

Goalkeeper
David James

Defenders
Djimi Traore
Sol Campbell
Linvoy Primus
Glen Johnson

Midfielders
Matty Taylor
Pedro Mendes
Gary O`Neil
Lauren

Strikers
Kanu
Andy Cole

Subs
Jamie Ashdown
Niko Kranjcar
Richard Hughes
Lomano Lua
Benjani

I don`t think Sean Davis will return to the side after his injury and Pamarot is definitely out with a groin injury. I don`t expect Harry to name a defender on the bench as Lauren can slip back into the defence should a defender be injured.

Will Lua return? I think he will, as I fully expect Harry to name four strikers in the Pompey squad for tonight`s game. Which two will start? I`m unsure as Harry may decide to use Benjani`s pace to try and get in behind.

My other dilemma was whether he would name Doula ahead of Richard Hughes (?) but naming the squad I have predicted, this wouldn`t be needed as Pompey`s bench includes lot`s of pace in Lua Lua and Benjani.

Score Prediction: 3-1

What do you think the Pompey team will be?

I'd probably go along with that side but with Benjani instead of Cole. Pompey will win I'll say 2-0. Three points vital...

If we can't draw confidence from the defensive performance against United we never will, clean sheet so long as we keep the Yak quiet... In reference to the poll Clap Him, you have to after the goals he scored, at worst nothing but boo him, come on we're better than that. The only ill feeling I hold is that is wasn't that much of a move forward...

yep admin i agree with ruggers, that Poll was not required, sometimes we need to be less negative about the pposition and more positive aboyut us. I think we must (& will scrape) win this game to have any chance of 5th & Europe or hanging on to 6th & more TV MONEY. I think we will see Benjani start with Kanu but will see LuaLua and Cole sometime tonight. Sadly I cant see us keeping a clean sheet, Boro are not the bad strike force they used to be. I think (hope) 2-1 but i reckon the last 10 mins will be nervous.

The poll was OK I guess the amounts voting for "boo him" are what I object to... I'd love a clean sheet but would love three points more. Agree LuaLua and Cole will both come on from the bench with Kanu, Benjani and a.n.other alongside the pair at some point...

i reckon we line up tonight with this eleven: Peter mellor; peter Ellis, Steve Foster, Billy Gilbert, kenny Swain; garry stanley, Preki, david Hillier, Michlas Vlachlos; Norman piper, Derrick Showers; on the bench: george lawrence, Richard Hughes (the bench wouldn't be same without him), Norman uprichard, david leworthy, and Vince Hilaire. I think we'll manage a 2-1 win.

boro playing 4-5-1, our time to attack them. we need rooney in our team to break them at 70 mins +. pompey should win though. pupppu.
