Premiership Preview (20-21/01/07)

Pompey welcome Charlton and Ben Thatcher to Fratton Park on Saturday in our latest Barclays Premiership match, what about the others.

Saturday, 20/01/007
Aston Villa v Watford, 15:00
Phil Bardsley has arrived on loan move from United and should feature but Chris Sutton, Martin Laursen and Mark Delaney are all absent.

Ashley Young will probably sit out the game with his possible next club. Dan Shittu (ankle) is 50-50 but James Chambers, Clarke Carlisle and Marlon King remain sidelined.

Fulham v Tottenham, 15:00
Zat Knight and Ian Pearce are back but Antti Niemi again misses out. Wayne Routledge (ineligible) will also miss out while new signing Clint Dempsey needs to build up his fitness.

Anthony Gardner will replace Calum Davenport who left for West Ham in midweek as Ledley King (bruised foot) is still out. Jermaine Jenas, Mido and Paul Stalteri will also miss out.

Liverpool v Chelsea, 12:45
Mark Gonzalez (shin) is set to return while any other changes Rafa Benitez will make will be at his own doing

Claude Makelele (suspension) is out so Mikel Jon Obi will probably replace him whiles Petr Cech could make his first appearance since fracturing his skull.

Man City v Blackburn, 17:15
Joey Barton (suspension) misses out while Nedum Onuoha and Hatem Trabelsi (both hamstring) remain doubtful, but Sun Jihai and Dietmar Hamann could return.

David Bentley (suspension) returns but Paul Gallagher (groin) remains doubtful. David Dunn isn't fit enough to make a second debut for Blackburn yet.

Middlesbrough v Bolton, 15:00
George Boateng (knee) will be given time to prove his fitness. But Andrew Taylor and Emanuel Pogatetz will return in place of Seb Hines and Andrew Davies.

Kevin Nolan (rib) and Abdoulaye Faye (suspension) should both return. Kevin Davies (Achilles) also returns.

Newcastle v West Ham, 15:00
Scott Parker (suspension and stomach strain) and Stephen Carr (foot) will return but Emre is still doubtful.

Bobby Zamora (suspension) is out but new signing Calum Davenport should make his West Ham debut.

Reading v Sheff Utd, 15:00
Kevin Doyle and Brynjar Gunnarsson (both hamstring) are out but Dave Kitson and Bobby Convey could return. Shane Long (thigh) and Graeme Murty (groin) need late tests.

New signings Luton Shelton is unavailable (international clearance) and Matthew Kilgallon (ankle) will miss out while Chris Morgan completes a suspension.

Sunday, 21/01/07
Arsenal v Man Utd, 16:00
Robin van Persie (ankle) is doubtful. Gilberto Silva (suspension) and Johan Djourou (hamstring) are both out. Emmanuel Adebayor and Mathieu Flamini could deputise with Emmanuel Eboue also after a recall.

Wes Brown (virus) returns to an otherwise full strength United squad.

Wigan v Everton, 13:30
Lee McCulloch is available despite handing in a transfer request. Andreas Granqvist (flu) returns but Henri Camara, Paul Scharner and Arjan de Zeeuw are out.

Mikel Arteta (suspension) is back but Nuno Valente (knee) and Tony Hibbert (groin) are still out.

Go from one bad boy to another.I have just seen Lua Lua has been arrested again although he is inocent until proven guilty unlike thatcher.
Ed Junior
yep Ed Junior you are right, but a mate of mine in media street confirmed the arrest took place. Im treading a bit carefully here because i posted the story last time LL had an early morning "event" and got slaughtered for doing it and then for saying he has had a horrific time and he needs help, so im going to be diplomatic about it this time. LUA LUA YOU HAVE HAD A HORRIFFIC TIME, SO GET HELP BEFORE YOU BECOME A TOTAL ARROGANT SCREW UP YOU STUPID BUSTARD. and dont blame it on the fans this time THIS IS NOT A DEATH THREAT.......TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS!!!!! not to mention the fact that a skin full is hardly the best way to speed up the healing process for a damaged thigh. There you go diplomatically couched i feel.. I of course will now vent my disappointment at this news, the winds that took my roof off, global warming and the £60 parking fine i got today out on Thug Thatcher tomorrow afternoon.

Stealing a toilet seat what was that all about.I heard the two of them took a price off one toilet seat and put it on another and a security guard saw them. All very very sad I hope it was a prank for their sake and they aren't that desparate.A bit like our Freddy Eastwoods wife.He is supposed to be on over £110000 a year yet his wife was caught shoplifting in debenhams??
Ed Junior
it wasn't lua lua who was caught with the toilet seat it was gj and a millwall player i think
Ed Junior
