Thatcher Makes Desperate Apology

Ben Thatcher has made an attempt to cool the hate directed at him from Pompey fans, ahead of his arrival on the South Coast this Saturday, by making an apology.

Thatcher said;

'I'm ashamed of what I did. It was a really low moment.

'I was given an eight-game ban and just got my head down and trained hard every day. I just tried to show a good attitude to try to get something positive from a bad time.

'It was a difficult time and it's just good to be back playing; it's all water under the bridge now.'

Not sure if Pompey fans will see it as water under the bridge but one things for sure; if Pompey players need motivation for this game then watch that tackle before.

The player continued;

'Bar that one stupid challenge my disciplinary record over the past few seasons hasn't been bad at all - and I've assured Alan Pardew that nothing like that will happen again.

Police will not step up security for the game, claiming that their existing standard policing operation will be sufficient enough.

lets just stay cool and think about winning the three points that will go along way to relegating him, or we will fail against another team below us and Thug Thatcher will most likely score.

I wonder what effect the forearm smash incident from last year will have on refereeing decisions?

The ref is bound to feel some pressure - whether he is hard on him or gives him the benefit of the doubt in tackles I don't know. He must know how the crowd will react if he doesn't deal with him firmly.

he also knows he will go down in history as a pompey favourite should he send him off

I think he should be shot half to death, then burned before being given a good kicking-while-he's-on-the-floor. After that we parade his body around town for local children to beat with sticks.

I say give him a break - nose, jaw, leg not sure which first. Hung drawn and quartered, whipped on the Victory with 50 lashes with a cat of 9 tails(nicely tarred rope endings). After that place his head under a guillotine, ask him to beg for mercy and then and only then banish him to the lower leagues for ever.
