Todorov To Make Pompey Comeback?

In a series of ironic twists, the first when the FA Cup draw was made and Pompey were drawn against Wigan with it then thought Svetoslav Todorov's loan would become permanent so he could have indeed be playing against us, with his loan having come to an end at the end of the year and him returning it is more than conceivable that he will make his Pompey return against Wigan today?

Many of us felt that Todorov had played his last game for Pompey when he left us for Wigan as the midnight deadline approached back in August but having made only a handful of appearances most of which came in the last few weeks with the closest he got to scoring during his time at the JJB being a penalty which he had saved by Blackburn's Jason Brown (remember him? He was in goal when Todorov missed a penalty in our humiliating League Cup defeat against Gillingham under Alain Perrin.) is now back at Pompey and looks set for a place in the squad, if not the starting eleven in front of the Fratton faithful once again as Harry Redknapp looks to shuffle his pack after a hectic Christmas and New Year period in order to rest some and keep others fresh ahead of some very important Premiership matches.

Another twist could see Andrew Cole, the man brought in that ultimately saw Todorov move on make a quick exit from Fratton? Charlton are being linked with Cole, so we may well end up going full circle returning to the position we were in as regards to forwards before Cole's arrival! Redknapp is believed to have asked for Charlton defender Herman Hreidarsson in return, which Alan Pardew is mulling over. Hreidarsson is no stranger to us here at Pompey as he was all set for a move a few years back before ducking out at the last.

Do I want Cole to leave? No as he looks a constant goal threat whenever he plays. Do I want Hreidarsson to arrive? I don't know. He's a good footballer but is he really much of an improvement on what we already have. Bring back Sir Teddy I say! We should never have let him go in the first place so maybe I'd be willing to let Cole go if we can tempt him back to Fratton from West Ham for one last hurrah…

It'll be an emotional afternoon at Fratton should Todorov pull on the blue shirt again. I for one will be putting a few quid on Todorov to score, adding to the few quid I already have on Pompey to make it into round four and the few more quid I have on us to lift the FA Cup in May!

Not sure on Cole for Heidi. Glad to have Toddy back, 5 strikers all carrying injuries of sorts. Maybe we need 6?

Would love to see Toddy play today, still love him for the goals he scored at the end of last season! good luck toddy!!!!!!!

I saw Toddy speak to PompeyWorld on the website, he sounds funny. Also I wouldn't swap Cole for Hreidarsson even if Charlton gave us £20m as part of the deal, Coley is starting to go on fire now even though he's only started two games.

If the Muntari rumours are to be believed and Udinese did not deny them last august and are not denying them now then i think Toddy will be one of the likely lads to go, my suggested "likely lads" departures and ( for those over 35) my likely lads departure rating follow. Toddy (Terry), Benji ( Bob) LuaLua (Thelma) Cole & Kanu (wor sister Brenda until the end of the season)

Cole has proved a wise signing by Harry so after his goal against Wigan and others earlier why should we let him go - to Charlton who will be playing in a lower league next year or just to give Andrew the record for playing with and scoring with 7 different Premiership Clubs - surely that record cannot be on his mind. Or there again is it ?
