Pompey to keep Johnson?

Reports in the media suggest Pompey are to offer £6m for defender Glen Johnson who is currently excelling on a season long loan deal from Chelsea.
If there is any substance to the rumour it would be a welcome addition to the Pompey squad, as not only would it galvanise the teams efforts for Europe, it would at last show a signal of intent in the transfer market, rather than false dawns like the proposed Fernandes signing, which looks like a no-goer.
Other rumours include an offer for Robert Earnshaw of Norwich, but this could be the start of a connection to any in-form striker as the transfer window opens next week.

With Pompey you never konw whats around the corner. The Fernandes deal looked sorted, then last week dead and burried but it still wouldn't surprise if something came off, although unlikely...

Earnshaw, decent player but not sure if he's the right one for us? As for GJ if we can get him in on a full term deal I'd welcome this. He's still young which is a bonus but has proved several times he still has alot to learn. I've not always been a big Pamarot fan but if we can't keep GJ then maybe Pamarot stepping in wouldn't be such a bad thing in the long run. If we can get GJ though it really does send out a message to others and signals our real intentions for next season, the season after and the season after etc...

Earnshaw is a very good Championship striker, but that's as good as he gets in my opinion. GJ signing on a proper deal would be fantastic news.

CAn see you taking Johnson. Mourinho seems to ahve gone right off him, so it probably would take less than £6m to prise him away.

How much did GJ move for to Chelsea?

GJ would be a great sighning! I wouldnt mind Fernandes if the price is right!!

I think GJ was 8 mill. Not sure on Earnshaw though. He didnt really set the world alight the last time he was in the prem with WestBrom, but then again neither did Kanu. I still think Pompey play well with a tall, strong Striker who can hold the ball up (eg a young Kanu) enabling our midfield, that is full of goals, to get forward. Not sure who would fit the bill though, any ideas???

We have a chance of getting GJ is Sasha can fund it. Unlikely they will sell him to Arse or Manure.
