'If It's Football, It's Vital'

86% Forgive Harry Redknapp

Harry Redknapp has spoken about his return to the club and how he won the fans over.

Harry, who will have been back at Pompey for a year on thursday, told the Mirror;

"I don't think there has been a better calendar year for me than this year. It has been great.

"I'm loving it - it couldn't have gone better.

"We have had a great start to the season. If we can hang in there and finish somewhere up near the top it will be great. That is what we are all aiming for.

'Who knows where I could be this time next year? I signed a three-year contract in the summer and hopefully I will still be here.

'But you just don't know what could happen tonight, tomorrow or any other day.

'This is the most satisfying thing I've ever done. I took the challenge on when it would have been easy to do nothing.

'People told me I was off my head when I came back here. They said there was no chance of keeping us up. A lot of the supporters were not happy when I came back but others knew Pompey were doomed without me. And by the end of the season I'd won them all over.

'There were a lot of people waiting for me to fail. But I didn't.

'Now things are a bit different. The atmosphere is better, there's a better squad of players and we've had a great start to the season.'

In the Vital Pompey poll

60% have forgiven him
26% have forgiven but not forgotten
14% have yet to forgive him

That means that Harry has the backing of 86% of all Pompey fans.

He der man! Perrin is doing okay over in France but we would be in the Championship if we still had him. Anyone that still hasn't forgiven old Kidnapp is a mentalist with a death wish. The shopping in Southampton isn't too bad so I can see why he fancied a break but Portsmouth puts fire in your belly and just look at the first team he's put together. I can't help but see it as a reflection of the passion the club and the city generates. Whether it be genius or luck Redknapp and Pompey bring out the best in each other.

Double agent,houdini,judas,messiah............. no matter what your view of the man is,there's no disputing that without his return,we would be playing championship football this season. Personally,in the poll,I was one of the forgiven but not forgotten brigade. So...THANK YOU Harry !!! (But don't dream of doing us up like kippers again !) lol

To the 14% get a life. They are the ones who tend to hate the scummers more than love Pompey. Yes I called him everything under the sun but move on please. He was what he was then & he is what he is now. Thank heavens for NOW.

The mans a football genuis, a legend at Pompey and I'd agree with everyone who has said we wouldn't be where we are now if it wasn't for Sir 'arry of Redknapp! I've more than forgiven his temporary months in which he should have been sectioned (technically he was going to scum!) but have to admit it isn't forgotten, so voted that way. Anywone who hasn't forgiven yet what more do you want? BLOOD...
