Premiership round-up (28-29/11/06)

Pompey battled to a point at Anfield against Liverpool in our latest Barclays Premiership match, what about the others…

Tuesday 28/11/06
Watford 0-1 Sheff Utd
Two of the likely relegation candidates come May Watford and Sheff United almost played out a 0-0 draw until Danny Webber (88) grabbed the points for United late on in the LIVE SKY Sports clash. Veteran Chris Powell (90) was sent off in injury time for a second bookable offence.

Wednesday 29/11/06
Aston Villa 1-3 Man City
Pompey's weekend opponents lost for the first time at home, only the second time all season. Darius Vassell (18) and Joey Barton (32) put City in command before Gavin McCann (66) gave Villa hope, Sylvain Distin (75) extinguished this with City's third.

Bolton 0-1 Chelsea
Michael Ballack's header on the stroke of half time handed Chelsea a hard fought victory in the LIVE SKY Sports clash.

Fulham 2-1 Arsenal
Brian McBride (6) and Tomasz Radzinski (19) inflicted yet more misery on Arsenal as they lost again. Robin Van Persie (36) pulled a goal back with a fine free kick but that was as good as it got. In a match littered with cards Phillipe Senderos (66) saw red for a second bookable offence.

Man Utd 3-0 Everton
A much-changed United team saw them comfortable winners thanks to goals from Cristiano Ronaldo (39), Patrice Evra (63) and a late John O'Shea (89) effort.

These were a good bunch of results for us which sees us actually move up to 3rd - despite only picking up 1 solitary point from 2 games. Next comes Aston Vanilla and the Toffees - let's hope they will both prove tasty treats. Dare I suggest 6 points O.K. 4 will do.

Yeah its strange to have seen us move up to third with only one point picked up, results did go very much in our favour. We should be looking for 6 points but I'd take four we have to beat Vanilla on Saturday before a toffee treat is deserved...

It's amazing really looking back on the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool after 15 games.
