Dejan: It's Not My Fault

Dejan Blames Injury

Dejan Stefanovic has blamed his current injury problem for his recent performances. Tony Adams had criticised the player`s concentration from set pieces and Dejan was partly to blame for Watford`s goal.

Dejan said;

'Maybe people watching from the outside don't know what's going on,' said Stefanovic. The injury is not really bad, but it's not good either. I had a scan last month and one on Monday. It's still the same.

'It's uncomfortable for jumping and sprinting. It's a problem, but I'm still hoping to get through three games in the next 10 days. The injury has definitely affected my performance in the past two games and if Matty Taylor is fit there is a question mark over whether I play.

'But if we have injuries, I will be there and I will try my best.'

Dejan is likely to start against Newcastle at the weekend, as he continues to try his best for the team.

Sadly his best ain't been good enough for a long time. We've needed him due the lack of options. Time for a change if we want to be a top 8 side.

I dont know if I just got a soft spot becauce of how long hes been with us, but I still think he can do us a job. Yes hes off form this season, but so is Gary O. He is injured right now & playing out of position, but sadly (or maybe not because Linvoy & Sol have been sensational) it looks like he will be out of postion all season! maybe thats the whole problem???
CharlieChimes
agree with charlie, people should get off his back, look at the table, third, what would you prefer dejan m.o.m every week and back fighting relegation? gary o is definitely not as good as last year but then he was a good player in a crap side, this year he is a good player in a good side

He is willing to play through the pain barrier rather than watch Pompey have no one play as Matt is also out sick. He admits he is not 100% but he could have just said "No im not well" and no one would have judged him. It is bad when someone who is prepared to try, gets blasted for it. I dont blame Adams though, i suspect the Evening News is stirring things again to sell the rag. Shame the News cant sell the paper on Good things about Pompey though instead of being Hell Bent on bringing the club back down to their level.

Midge the rumours about Dejan's influence on Harry have been doing the rounds for a while and at least one national was going to go with it before. Also lets be honest here even uninjured he has been shown to be imobile against quick players this seaon and last . Nobody underestimates what he has done, but I agree with storagematt, he can do it against the Sheffield's etc but not the better teams, and if we want to be top 8 then there is no room for sentiment. This is not the first time we have had the "I love the club" , "they are forcing me out" stories from him, especially when he gets caught out, no one is bigger than the team and it's time to stop deluding ourselves. Hope he scores against NUFC though.

time for him to sort it out i think..cannot play like that at this level and expect to be successful.....
ernshaw
Sadly have to agree that he's probably past his best & not great out of his natural position. Still, one would have thought that Tony Adams would show more class than to crap on a guy who has given a great deal to the team, is a deserving Captain and still tries hard.

Definitely injured now so no question marks applicable. I would rather have a fit player in that position than an under performing unfit one. End of story.
