Harry: Best to Come

Harry: Best to Come

Harry Redknapp has promised Pompey fans that Kranjcar`s best is yet to come. Although he does admit that we may not see the difference until next season.

Harry said;

'Kranjcar is a very good player. He's shown that consistently for Croatia and in training for us.

'I watched him on the telly for Croatia against Israel last week, and he was superb. And against Watford he showed flashes of what he can do, like the backheel to Lua in the second half.

'He's technically fantastic. He just needs to speed up and settle into the pace of the game here, and get used to the physical side. But there's no doubt that he's got great ability. He's going to be a top, top player when he's adjusted.

'We've just got to be patient with him, and get him fitter. He probably needs a pre-season to get really fit. I see him as a big one for the future. Once he gets used to the pace and physical side of the Premiership, you'll see the difference.'

I have faith in Harry`s judgement, let`s face it, it took a while for Davis and Mendes to get fit and now they are playing superbly.

Happy to wait to see the player blossom. However as we are pretty short on the left side of defence, we do need Kranjcar to do his bit there. Luxury flair players can be a liability too.

I'm still impressed that we even have Kranjcar and there will be his name on the back of my Pompey shirt in for him if can rhyme his skill for country with club.

Not sold on him yet. Seems to have a lack of pace at key situations (at least in the games I've seen). Hope I'm wrong though.

Every season has its highs and lows. The draw at home to Morecambe was a body blow for Pompey, but little did we know that the next home game against Crewe was to be our turning point.

Academy graduate O'Brien, who went on to play for Barnet, Brentford and Dagenham following his release by Pompey, will leave Fratton Park again - he'll link up with Doyle at Coventry.
