Lua Lua: I Love Pompey

Lua Lua: I Love Pompey

Lua Lua has told the Independent that he will fight on at Pompey despite comments made on website forums.

'Sometimes you get an opportunity to turn bad things into good. That's why I wanted to take the penalty last Saturday,' LuaLua said. 'You think to yourself things can't keep going wrong and that you have to be man enough to try to change things. I don't take penalties normally but I saw this one as a chance to turn something negative into something positive.

'I thought about leaving. When you're upset, the first thing you can sometimes think is that you want to run away. But I'm a fighter. I've signed a contract for another three years here. I love it playing for Portsmouth.'

What are your views on the Lua Lua situation?

Good things to say, shows the right attitude, i guess harry has had a word. He could really prove he loves Pompey by passing to them occaisionally.

lua Lua does pass this season. And he also goes alone. If the fans dont know which option he is to take, neither do the defenders of the other teams. So just sit back, andjoy and hopefully Lua Lua can shut the idiots up who decided to cast those evil comments about his son on the internet. Internet websites, already have a bad name, without some users giving forums an even worse name than they have now.

Can i also take this opportunity to say i am disgusted that a few fans have even resorted to racial comments in the Seats around me when Benjani and LuaLua have missed the net. Its a shame the stewards cant eject fans for making those type of comments.

No excuse for that type of abuse, especially against our own. No doubt the pond life concerned will get whtas due to them.

It doesn't matter if it's our own players or the opposition we don't want it or need it at Fratton Park. Christ this is the 21st Century now, stamp it out.

I am not Lomana's biggest fan by a long way,but the inane comments of anonymous morons really get to me. I trust that, like me,they cheered long and hard when his penalty hit the back of the net on Saturday. Play with genuine effort Lomana, and see how we come to love you...... Ask Benjani !!

agree with you all about the comments, its disgusting, Midge report the seat numbers. Midge i dont agree with you about the passing and nor do the vast majority of fans, or pundits on TV or radio, it is well commented and there is ample footage evidence watch Sky on Sunday morning. Ok he took a penalty, he wasnt supposed to be the person who took it, but he is deperate at the moment. We all see that Harry gets frustrated. i thinks Lincspfc summed it up nicely, he works for the team, the love comes back.

People who make personal comments like those aimed at LuaLua are not real fans, these people are evil. As for racist comments, no place for that anywhere let alone in football. LuaLua can't complain at those who moan about his sometimes "selfish" attitude, he's got to convince us he isn't be either passing more, or having that end product if he insists on not passing. It's a team game and there is no "I" in "team" this is something that should LuaLua really learn he'll be a world beater...

You got it right pompeyrug. Funny thing though, if Lua blows it, he gets alot of ***** from the terrace, if Gary blows it thats fine, because its Gary. I think Lua had a pretty good run out against Watford, but now it seems we are all waiting for him to make a mistake and were all on his back again, guess thats his own fault for his track record. Anyways, I still love him on the team, hes not winging about first team selection like O'brien, he has his head down, gets a start when we have a couple of injuries & scores the winning goal. Im going to give him this season to really make up my mind if we need him next season or not. True though Rug, if he passed more, I really belive he could be one of the best players in the prem.

Evans - Right back or right midfield?

Drew Talbot and Adam Buxton are fit but Gareth Evans continues to fill in at right back. Should this change? If so where would it leave the battle between Evans and Carl Baker?
