Sean Davis: I'm Happy at Pompey
Sean Davis has put to bed rumours that he is unhappy at Pompey but does admit he can`t score to save his life at the moment.
Davis told the local Portsmouth paper;
'I'm naturally a defensive midfielder, but Pedro Mendes is playing there fantastically. I can't score goals to save my life, even though I'm playing as an attacking midfielder. I have to be the one going forward and taking the initiative.
'I enjoy the freedom to get forward more. The trouble is, I couldn't hit a barn door at the moment. But the main thing is that the team are doing well. You have to put aside your own issues.
'Pedro is doing really well in the position, and the team is doing well, so you can't have any complaints.
Sean Davis has made a bet with Gary O`Neil that neither of them can cut their hair until they score.
'Why would I have a silly bet like that?I was growing my hair anyway, but I said to Gary he couldn't cut his hair until he scored either. But he is getting into the positions to score.'
Davis was once selected for an England squad.
'If it comes, it comes. But if I'm being realistic, I can't see myself playing for England. I just came down here to play football. I didn't look to see where they were in the league or anything. Playing football was the issue for me. And I got a lot of games under my belt.
'I had terrible problems with my knee, but it's great now. It's the best it's ever felt. When you've got no troubles, no injuries, you can work on your game.
'It's good to be back in the team. I feel as fit as I have done for a long time. I'm happy and healthy, with a good family life. Things are going well for me personally.'
