Redknapp: I Will Buy in January
Harry Redknapp has delighted Pompey fans today by promising to buy one or two defenders in the January transfer window. He has however praised Andy O`Brien`s effort when he has come into the side.
Harry said;
'We are short of numbers at the back even though defensively we have been very good this season.
'It is when you lose key players that you begin to struggle and I'll probably look to add one or two in the next transfer window, but Andy has always done a sound job for us and we need him at the moment.'
Pompey have been linked with Ryan Nelson and Sylvain Distin but Manchester City have told the press they are desperate to keep him.
Stuart Pearce has said;
'I want Sylvain to stay and have been saying so from day one. We will do everything in our power to convince him his future lies here.
'The more good days you have and the more good results you have the more it convinces a player they want to stay. He enjoys working in Manchester and working for this club.
'We have to make sure the results go in the right direction so he will want to be part of what are trying to achieve.'

Ah good to see Harry reads my defensive rants, in regards to Nelson, i saw him once and he got sent off (shame) and each time ive seen Distin he's made a complete (_i_) of himself.

Distin worries me, but look what Harry does to players and maybe once he's linked up with Sol and the boys (remember James already played with him( he'll probably shock us all and be the best defender in the world lol. I dont care who harry buys anymore, no one is going to be called a Donkey by me ever again. As far as im concerned they are only Donkeys because they are playing for a team and Manager they are not happy with. Once they pull on a Pompey jersey they will become the A_Team

LoL nelson, CharlieC Titarse was last years news. Lysimachus your not big or clever so stop teasing O'Brien like that...its cruel. My concern about Distin is every time i've seen him he's done an andy griffin thing and i wonder if this is not an over hype thing. And as i said as for the famous Nelson (of the Ryan type) i seem to remember he contunually lashed out Mendes until he got him self sent off. Do we want a hacker when we have Thompson to do that already.

I just heard he would be avalible in the Jan window & seems like the sort of player Harry would go for, Im not a fan obviously so im hoping we dont get link with him, not much chance of that though cause he plays football!

Now Harry has played his 2nd rate defence at Man Utd he must be fully aware they are just not good enough for the Premiership. (Some would struggle in the fizzy league).
He needs at least another RB, LB & 2 CB's before February. We have enough depth in Midfield but I would like to see another striker arrive at Fratton Park.
I would offload Dejan, Paramot & Lua to assist with funds in bringing in new players.
Dejan isn't capable off being a Captain doesn't communicate with the team and is too slow and ball watches far too often. Paramot is just to slow. and Lua Lua just doesn't like passing the ball.

harsh words Nelson, still id keephold of Lua. I think its real handy having someone like him avalible. He can change a game comin of the bench. Saying all that, we would get a decent amound of dosh for him. How much is Dejan worth these days??

be careful which agents you deal with Harry!

Out of the three players Nelson just lynched for a transfer, Lua should stay, Dejan should fall back to second choice CB for tougher games and Pamerot should only even be second choice for easier games or to make it easier for us he could be simply transfered.

lets all have a lynching, lets all have a lynching la la la la.. actually i mostly agree, Lysi does have a point also so we'll lynch them from a low tree. But the reality is if players come in books will have to be balanced, no point paying for deadwood. I wonder if all the August boys like Koroman or Doula will be here in february.
