Richard Duffy is Off Again!

Richard Duffy is Off Again!

Richard Duffy is apparently off to Coventry according to boss Micky Adams. Duffy who is a Wales regular, almost joined QPR on loan last week, only for the deal to collapse because a contract couldn`t be agreed.

Duffy has already spent two loan spells at Coventry, playing 15 games in 2004 and 34 games in the 2005/6 campaign.

'We have Richard Duffy lined up on a loan already,"said Adams.

Portsmouth and Coventry are thought to have agreed that the player will join on loan but could be recalled at any point by Portsmouth, should we be hit with injuries.

Does Duffy have a future at Portsmouth?

He is young and one for the future. As long as Harry remembers where he has sent him and keeps tabs on him then I think he will have a future.

With Nelson on this one. May do more harm than good chucking him in the Prem now.

im not sure we will miss him, i saw him pre season and we wasnt that great. Seems to want to lecture those clearly better than him. Linvoy & Dejan both told him to shut up at the oxford game, & Glen J did the same at the bournemouth game. Seems to me he has a LONG way to go. ( apart from 100miles up the road). but hey i also said the same about Gary O'Neil when i first saw him play.

So we send him to COVENTRY, doesn't mean we are not talking to him - or does it ? But "DUFFY OFF AGAIN" - shouldn't his best friend tell him about that B.O. problem !!

I thought he did awful against Mansfield. Terrible first touch and reaction time for clearance.

with reference to my last posting, Duffer was aparently quite involved in yet another thrashing of our reserves. Then he got injured so it seems he isnt off to coventry or any where else just yet. So tonights rant is ......The next time some media genius talks or your mate talks about our great squad and Europe, remember it is a salient point about our great squad that our so called strong reserve team is bottom of its league with the WORST DEFENCE and completely s0dding useless. Which gives me a great opportunity to bang on about where's the strength in depth for the defence ???? Example1 up coming chelski game GJ cant play and Dejan is only 50/50 and even if Dej could play he is likely to chop Didier fallobar or Robben as he is simply not mobile enough.... and perleeeeease dont tell me Taylor will cover.. (oh by the way i have a tenner on us to win 1-0 )

Haven't seen a lot of Duffy although i understand he is very highly rated. He was origanally signed as one for the future so He can gain experience out on loan and Micky Adams will be a good mentor for him. I see also that Jamie Ashdown is going on loan to Norwich, i wish him luck but hope he will be coming back as he's going to be a great keeper, James and Kiely are not getting any younger and i expect Kiely will be off before long as he doesn't like being number 2.

if john Toshack thinks Duffy is good enough for the Welsh side then we should sell him immediately. Coventry have got cash to burn after selling McSheffrey to birmingham. Why don't we take some of it from them (and a sell on fee for when young duffy joins barcelona).

Duo sign professional Pompey deals

Will Jez Bedford and Theo Widdrington be the future Pompey midfield? We'll certainly hope so, clearly the Blues do too or they wouldn't have signed professional deals at Fratton Park.

Nathan Thompson - A Swindon perspective

Prior to his departure for Wigan, Paul Cook wanted Nathan Thompson at Pompey. Interest was retained by Kenny Jackett, who completed his free transfer signing from Swindon last week.

Main man for Pompey? I wouldn't think so

Harsh? Maybe, but do I really feel ex-Middlesbrough, Doncaster and Oldham forward Main will be in Pompey's 1st team, becoming a key member of Jackett's starting XI? Well, no.
