Adams: We Must Win

Adams: We Must Win

Tony Adams has warned Pompey players that they need to bounce back from the Tottenham performance by beating West Ham next Saturday.

'I see our forthcoming home games as definitely winnable. I think what we tried to do at the start of the season was to be tough to beat, whether we played Manchester United away or West Ham at home.

'That's because nothing is easy. Teams are either fighting for their lives, going for the league or going for Europe. There's pride and there's money wrapped up in there, too. We want to do our stuff. To be resilient. To work hard as a team. To try to pick up as many points as we can. Hard work is a constant. Right from the off, we want to have a right go at teams.'

'Although we lost, I would argue that probably our best performance this season was against Bolton. We didn't play particularly well against Wigan, for instance, but won. We got some good breaks against Middlesbrough. We won 4-0, but they dominated possession. So maybe our best is yet to come.'

Pompey`s next four matches are: West Ham (h), Chelsea (a), Reading (h), Man United (a)

Yes we will look to put right jono, but I think you have a lot to worry about with your own team.

NO' HE'S RIGht ( ah caps lock just freed it self ) if you think back it was after tha last International break that we started the "rocky patch". We want to get back in to the winning habit, with several games that must be in that bracket, no disrespect to West Ham, Reading, Fulham and watford but we should be looking for all three points against these teams. Look what happened to Villa and Charlton at this time. They got into the losing habit and never really recovered. a win against the hammers will set us up nicely and if you are in the winning habit, we might just get a point at chelsea, west ham and at the newcy browns. we need a win

There more will to win games this season. The team believe in themselves which gives us a chance. That is something TA has taught this team.

We'll bounce back and beat West Ham in our next game, anything less than 4 point from the next four will be a poor return, but I think at least 6, if not more can be gained if we perform at our best...

Away to Chelsea is hardly likely to gain points, but a win over West Ham is on the cards.
