That seems to be the message from Vital Pompey members after the recent poll. The results of the poll show that fans don`t expect to have a stadium by 2008, most are willing to wait.

if the council is absolutely cooperative i dont think so but just maybe. If not then..not a bl00dy chance, 1st of all there's planning consent, once assumed planning permission, then you have your wayleave agreements. then you have your local area consultations for your nimby's. Then its the highways department, then the utilities, then fire safety, district surveyor and then transport consultations and then back to planning. In between design goes to stage E, then tendering & selection then contract pre start notice period, then assuming they want a retail park, there is the finding other buyers to capitilise the project (remember sacha has said long term the stadium must be self financing and the usual outlet suspects have all just moved into pompey village). I bet BARR who got the contract to build Fratton Park are really****** off. I remember Storrie saying on the radio that it wouldn't be long to build the ground as all the steel had already been cut to size and it was just a case of errecting it in place and building it up. Maybe the pikies stole the steel which is why we have no new ground LOL nelson

Give the man a chance, he has only been here 5 mins!! 1st priority was staying in the prem, he did that by splashing the cash in Jan, 2nd we have the best playing squad in my lifetime, 3rd he has bought land to build decent training facilities (more important than the ground)! The plans left by Milan are rubbish, people are/were excited by them because they are better than what FP is now, but have a look at them again, and tellme the now south stand is something to be proud of??? As long as Sascha is willing to make up the lost revenue, what does it matter about a new ground, when was the last time we sold out??? I wonder how many people that moan about not having a new ground actually go to FP??? danonash

true danonash I thought the new ground was ok but only ok, nothing to be proud of. Understood milans thinking, but agree with Sacha its not brilliant. So give the man some time, and we will all be laughing. As they say He who laffs last. Midge
