Pompey Will be a Walkover

Pompey Will be a Walkover

If Egyptian striker Mido is anything to go by, Pompey will be easy pickings today, he`ll probably get a hat-trick and Sol Campbell will hang up his boots at the end of the match after getting the run around all match from magnificent Mido. Pompey fans and stats may beg to differ, Sol has been colossal alongside Linvoy Primus so far, Kevin Nolan`s sublime volley being the only goal to breach the blues defence thus far. And as for Mido? Four games, no goals.

Harry Redknapp was infuriated by the comments and has pointed that these words will be all the motivation Pompey will need come Sunday, that and the fact that Uriah Rennie un-justly handed Spurs the points last season for a somewhat contentious penalty.

This season and the tables have been turned, it`s Pompey in the champions league places, and Spurs one place off the trap-door to the championship. Okay only six games have passed, but Pompey are playing their best football for three years, the defence hasn`t looked so sure since DeZeeuw and Primus combined to help Pompey reach the summit in the first place, and Spurs look woefully short up-front even with Keane, Defoe and the mouthy Egyptian to choose from, Berbatov promises to shine but has struggled with injury so far.

Andy (sorry Andrew) Cole can expect to be on the bench at least today, probably next to Lua Lua as Redknapp will surely keep faith with the same eleven who so far have exceeded expectations.
Fernandes looked good in his cameo appearance last Monday, and will be leaning on Davis and Mendes for a midfield berth in coming games. Ironically for a team who really struggled up-front last term, every goal this season has come from a striker, so when the midfield starts chipping in we could be in for a real treat.

Given their current positions, Pompey would start as favourites in some eyes, but Spurs should provide us with our biggest test so far, this is virtually the same team who narrowly missed out on Champions league football last May, and from what I have seen of them so far, with better finishing in front of goal could have won at least a couple of more games.

My prediction? Spurs 0 Pompey 2

Sticking my neck out a bit, but hopefully Campbell will shut Mido`s mouth, and as we are playing a footballing side, or counter attacking style will bear fruit with a couple of goals.

Play up Pompey
Paul

as long as the defence dont through away a penalty on the sh1tface mido we should be able to try and get a point out of them. bolton would have taken a point to us at home and got lucky and got 3, why cant we steal the extra 2 points?! we get it and were back in numero uno position! you know it makes sense! the pessimist says so! :D

Unlucky guys!

Didn't Mido look threatening towards our defence today. Maybe he should ask himself why he can't get in the Spurs team rather than shout his Egyptian mouth off.
nelson
Mido is a****. Unlucky today boys, you dominated them for most of the game and Zokora is a cheating little git.
