Saint Fan`s Milan Tribute!
12 O`clock= Saint Fan`s Milan Tribute
I am a Saints fan and have been for many years. I am writing this tribute out of respect for what Milan Mandaric has done for Portsmouth Football club in particular and local football in the Portsmouth area in general.
Without Milan and his financial input I personally believe that Pompey would be a lower league club now. It has not just been about his financial input but his energy and commitment toward the club and its` supporters.
I believe Milan saw the 'potential` of Portsmouth football club a time before sinking his own money into the team. Pompey fans only ever asked for the club to start holding on to their better players and adding to the squad to strengthen it rather than being a continual 'selling club`. Milan brought that philosophy in with him but even better than that, he bought in some quality players for the club as well.
Pompey fans just did what Milan Mandaric knew they would from the very outset. They responded by turning up in their thousands, and apart from a mindless few, have always been a tremendous credit to the club.
Milan ran rings around his local rival at the time, Rupert Lowe and will ever be held in the deepest regard by TRUE Saints fans, who likewise despised their own Chairman at the time. There will always be an element of envy by Saints fans for not having had a passionate and inspired wealthy Chairman as Pompey were so fortunate to attract.
I sincerely hope that when Milan officially withdraws from Pompey on Monday night that the club is still top of the Premiership. There couldn`t be a finer way to leave a club for someone who should remain a GIANT in the football clubs everlasting history.

I disagree. Although Pompey fans do have the rivalry with Southampton (Scumhampton), true football fans, (and Pompey do have fans of football not just in Pompey), true football fans, may not like to admit it, but they did take note of Sir Rupert Lowe and his ability to tear Saints apart. and i think most of them did feel and understand how Saints fans felt. as alan said, he respects what Milan dod for us, and i tink Pompey fans respect what Rupert done or didnt do for them. But at the end of the day all sympathised, even if only tongue in cheek?

I'm not sure if you genuinely mean what you say Rabbi, but if you do I think you show a lack of respect with what you say really to a person who is saying something he doesn't need to say if he really didn't want to! It takes a bigger man to come on here and say something like that than it does for people to knock him down, good on you Alan...

Listen I've forgotten how many times I sat at fratton watching us lose to barnsley or walsall in the freezing cold wondering why Pompey couldn't do what Scum were doing in the Premiership. watching them have a day out at the cup final and getting into europe. They were better run and organised (did i say youth scheme) until Rupert Lowe came along. Luckily we got Milan mandaric who sorted things out at our end. I speak on behalf of many Pompey fans who will remember the matches at fratton Park in the premiership and the game at West brom where we sent them down. I take great joy every time they lose. I'm a Pompey fan. I want my team to do better than them. If Alan (who i'm sure is a nice bloke despite his team) wants to say those things then I'm happy to accept them with good grace. I just don't want pompey fans telling me to respect Rupert lowe (upper class twit of the year on many occassions). I much prefer our Russian Israeli Jewish chairman who keeps it quiet. rant over.

Well i thin every pompey fan respects Milan for waht he did for Pompey, and also Rupert for what he did for Pompey too.
