Southenders Uncovered - Part Two!

Southenders Uncovered - Part Two!

Southenders Uncovered Part Two.

Think about it from Harry Redknapp’s side of things. He has walked out on Southampton and then made a dramatic apology to all the Portsmouth fans! Are you telling me Milan did not ask him if you apologise to the fans in order to get a contract!? Harry then says “I’m coming back to a tough job.” and plays stupid in front of the sky sports cameras getting the story confused about what Milan had said. Harry then goes on to say he is still hopeful and even jokes while standing next to a Father Christmas “We can’t meet like this Milan!” I might be wrong and I hope I am but I think he is being fed the information from somewhere. He then comes out today and tells the local paper, 'I'm sure Milan Mandaric won't hang me out to dry.' Which suggests too me a deal has already been done between the two and Milan will pay up.

Think about it from the fans view, most of the Portsmouth fans want Harry back and they are the ones that are putting the club in front of a rivalry. Don’t get me wrong I booed Harry as much as any one when we played Southampton but this isn’t one game if we get this appointment wrong we are down! It is as simple as that and if you turned to every Pompey fan and said if we take Harry we stay up and if we get someone else we go down then 99% would say get Harry. They just don’t get that Laurie Sanchez is a huge gamble on someone with no Premiership experience.

What is going to happen then? Well I think that on Wednesday you will see the biggest developments of the week. Portsmouth will speak to Laurie Sanchez, George Burley, Brian Kerr and I expect Alex McLeish to be sacked from his managerial role at Rangers. This will see more people believing that Alex is set to take over. On Thursday - if not before - Portsmouth will make another approach for Harry. I do not expect it to be much different from the original offer.

This will likely come just before an emergency board meeting at Southampton which is already scheduled. This will force Rupert Lowe to bring it up at the meeting and it is thought that many members of the board feel it is time to let Redknapp go and take whatever money is being offered. I believe this will then be accepted and on Friday Harry Redknapp will be announced as the new Portsmouth manager and will appeal to fans for forgiveness!

The only twist I can foresee is Alex McLeish being hired instead and 64% of those who have voted on this sites poll appear to want him come to Pompey. But I can not see Laurie Sanchez or Brian Kerr coming to Fratton Park.

This article could be completely wrong and Laurie Sanchez takes charge however the bookies have Harry favourite by a mile so they obviously know something! They may have an insider at Southampton saying the Saints are going to accept the best offer they receive by the end of the week. Or it maybe an insider at Portsmouth saying Milan will cough up the money!

This soap opera is gripping the football nation! Watch this space!

Vital Pre-Match - League 2, 27th September

The 2016-17 season continues with the latest round of matches this midweek, which will see us among those having a match in this upcoming schedule with three-points the aim of course.

Tranmere loan for Tollitt

Ahead of the weekend win over Barnet, which probably wouldn't have been a game he was involved in anyway, Ben Tollitt was sent out on loan to Tranmere.

All deserve the plaudits for that performance

I think that's a fair assessment from Cook, some played a little better than others but Barnet was a very good team performance from Pompey even if it wasn't 'really' a 5-1 scoreline.
