Pompey "Panorama" Twist?

Pompey

Well I have heard some stupid rumours in the past but this latest one, does make sense.

The Facts

"Panorama" on BBC is running a programme about bungs in football. They put in a lot of research, trying to get clubs and managers involved in the illegal dealings.

Harry Redknapp has strongly denied he is involved, claiming he isn`t one of the 6 managers and Portsmouth aren`t one of the ten sides…

Kevin Bond left Portsmouth for Newcastle at the end of the season with Tony Adams brought in.

Where is the Rumour From?

Then the following was wrote on Vital Pompey earlier, it may not be true but it`s a great rumour;

The Rumour

Looks like Kevin Bond didnt part company on friendly terms with harry after all, when he left pompey for Newcastle. I have heard (And this will be confirmed if Panorama broadcast it Tuesday 19/09/06) that Keving Bond, was caught on tape naming Managers that May take a Bung. As Harry redknapp was named by Kevin Bond, Harry, then asked Kevin to leave Pompey, after managing NOT to get lured in... (which makes sence, as Harry must have smealt the rat having been branded time and time again... Lets be fair, Harry isnt that daft he saw it coming). Now Panorama is about to screen the recording, Kevin Bond is likely to make more enemies, as he names other managers. Hence his need for Personal leave, and probably the end of his short lived spell in Newcastle???? Watch Tuesday to see if the murmours i hear are true or false. Midge

Chances?

I recon that it has potential to be true. Like he said Kevin Bond has left Newcastle for personal reasons;

A club spokesman confirmed: 'Kevin is on leave from the club for a few days to resolve personal matters.'

He is also right in saying that Harry doesn`t mention Kevin Bond anymore. I doubt that it is true but this programme is going to be interesting (if they show it.)

What Could it Mean?

Well if this is true Kevin Bond won`t have broken any rules but would become one of the most hated men in football. If Portsmouth are caught it could result in a punishment (likely to be money rather than points). If Harry is caught? Would the club sack him?

By Paul Fisher

The above article is pure speculation and the chances are that Kevin Bond will have nothing to do with it.

Bond is Scummer through & through. Let him rot up north. All clubs do 'deals' of one sort of another. All business were big money is involved comes with a degree of grey. Who really cares. Since when has being whiter than white mattered?

Paul as i posted earlier on the forum, from what i heard from my freind in media street, both the BBC and press state that there currently is no allegation of wrong doing by either HR or the club. However this would tie in with why they wished to obtain written answers from the club regarding staff if, it were about a former member who had made statements whilst in the clubs employ. As i had not seen any of the normal panorama hype when they think they have a good story, i checked and as of today still no formal decision to broadcast has been made although the longer the delay the more likely is the Beeb will choose to risk broadcast and be damned. storagmatt I think Harry will care. I think Sacha will care and we should care, the drip drip effect of bad publicity will have a negative efect on pompeyrug's popularity league. :-)

It sounds as though this could be possible, if so Bond won't have a leg to stand on, couldn't see him going back to Newcastle or anywhere else really...

Westove re your last comment if Bond has used the clubs name for personal financial gain then i agree, your 1st comment i fail to understand. westov, the last paragraph of the article refers to Harry "getting caught" actually the media accusations had not previously referred to kevin bond but has focused on Harry denials and stressing no evidence of Harry wrong doing, my posting previously was about Harry cos thats where the bbc were probing hoping for info,Kevin Bond is supposed to have given the name Harry. Westov lets be honest here, regarding its pompey, it is all about Harry.
