Dejan Interview

Dejan Interview

Dejan Interview;

'We have played well, defended well, and we've got better players of international quality in a big squad now.

'It has made a big difference having plenty of players who can step in when others are injured.

'There is lots of experience and lots of character. Our confidence is excellent. Everybody feels it and the atmosphere is fantastic. It used to be a quiet back four but now there is plenty of noise because people are confident in what they are doing.

'Sol Campbell has shown what we all knew he would. He's an outstanding player, but he's not the only one we have.

'Harry has brought some great signings to the club and playing with better players makes you a better player yourself.

'I'm happy to do a job at left-back for the team. That is no problem at all. I even manage to get forward now and again. The confidence is there.

'It was not the case last season. I never hid from admitting that but it is so much different now. It is because of what Harry has done.

'He has been given the chance to sign a lot of good players - and I believe he will keep doing that for two or three more years or however long he wants to stay.

'Within a couple of years I'm confident the team will be playing in the UEFA Cup, no problem. It is all there for us.'

Dejan is confident the club is on the up but we must keep our feet on the ground for now!

I'll be surprised if Dejan gets back into the middle of the defence if Sol & Linvoy carry on as they've started.

Dejan has played his best football (since De Zeouw was sold) at left back. Sol & Linvoy have been unbelievable together.

Keep Dejan on the left, then get someone else in January if he stops delivering, but to be honest think he's playing decent football at the moment...

You can't drop a defence that hasn't let in any goals yet !!!

StuartM is completely right! We have the soundest defense in the country so why change it now. Stefanovic has done as the rest of the defense have so why evn consider a change around!

Got to say, that we've now got probably the strongest squad i've ever seen at Fratton park.

Big squad and big decisions for Harry. But I'm sure he wouldn't want it any other way. We hopefully won't be hearing that old cliche this year "Down to the bare bones"...

Vital Pre-Match - League 2, 27th September

The 2016-17 season continues with the latest round of matches this midweek, which will see us among those having a match in this upcoming schedule with three-points the aim of course.

Tranmere loan for Tollitt

Ahead of the weekend win over Barnet, which probably wouldn't have been a game he was involved in anyway, Ben Tollitt was sent out on loan to Tranmere.

All deserve the plaudits for that performance

I think that's a fair assessment from Cook, some played a little better than others but Barnet was a very good team performance from Pompey even if it wasn't 'really' a 5-1 scoreline.
