No keeper but Allan stays

The 'special dispensation' that Pompey hoped would be given to them to sign a new keeper on loan has been refused by the football league...

Following the recall of Alex Cisak by Oldham on Monday that has left us with Simon Eastwood as our only keeper.

To be honest if we use Eastwood that is fine with me but injury, or a sending off, during a game will leave us in trouble - so lets just hope we do not see either in the weeks ahead!

This leaves us with a squad of 19 now...

Meaning Guy Whittingham needs to decide if he wants to bring a keeper in from the academy, look to bring in a keeper that is a free agent. Alternatively a younger outfield player from our squad could be brought into picture or another free agent out there?

Then again 'perhaps' filling up our quota of 20 would then prevent us from bringing in an emergency keeper if, hopefully not mind, this were needed.

Of course it is feasible that Whittingham will just stick as it, outfield and keeper wise...

Whatever though there has been better news with Scott Allan, who has agreed to another month extension on his loan.

No doubt he will return to West Brom at the end of this, or early in the New Year, and end up at Blackpool though...
