Benson Pompey bound?

Benson Pompey bound?

Some weeks back I suggested that Paul Benson could be someone that Pompey were looking to sign.

This never happened, but according to what sky sports 'understand' a possible loan with 'a view to a permanent deal' is being looked at for the Swindon man?

He may well be 33-years-old but, putting aside the fact we cannot be too choosy with who we bring in, I would be pretty happy if he is a player within our budget and someone that we could genuinely sign.

Goals win games - so long as you can defend! - and he certainly knows how to score them so I would be more than happy if we could bring him in, even if it was only on loan.

What sky sports 'understands' and what actually happens are rarely the same thing so I guess I will believe this when it happens but hope we can as I would say that, with his goalscoring ability, it 'could' make the difference between us going down or staying up...

No More Quarter Final Replays For Pompey

Should Portsmouth progress through to an FA Cup quarter final from the 2016/17 season onwards, the game will no longer be subject to a replay.

On this day in history...27th May

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 27th May.

Chesterfield's O'Shea targeted

Although so far Pompey have had two bids turned down for Chesterfield's O'Shea. Will, assuming another bid (as it's expected) is made, it be third time luck for the Blues?

It wasn't Real Madrid but Bristol City isn't bad!

Contrary to what I just wrote (muppet that I am) this isn't at Fratton this is at Ashton Gate with Pompey heading to Bristol City on Saturday 30th July, with a 3pm kick-off.
