'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Question marks?

I am a HUGE fan of Appy, so do not think I am 'turning' on him - but fan, or not, I think when you have a bit of a grievance with someone, or something, you should air it really, right?

Its all very well dishing out praise, support and credit when the going is good, but like I say if you have an 'issue' that too should be shared, this does not mean you are turning on someone, or something...

Appy's comments in the build-up to the FA cup-tie with Notts County were odd. In one breath he is pretty much 'sacking off' the FA cup, virtually dismissing such a prestigious competition.

Yep, I get the fact that the league is 'the priority', but does the FA cup really need to be dismissed, especially as it can offer up some financial reward - rewards we needed!

Fans pay good money to watch football and want to go to a game with the belief that they go with the chance of at least seeing their club go for a win.

Then in another breath he is asking fans to 'show up in force' to offer support to the club...Having expressed such thoughts about what he thought of the game were people really going to part with money, reduced tickets or not, especially with another midweek game coming up.

Which one was it Appy?

I personally did not go to the game in the end, but by all accounts it was just as well I did not as the game was pretty much 'sacked off'... This club is in need of all the revenue we can, another couple of rounds, 'other priorities or not', could have made a difference.

We have also had all the 'speculation' that has been linking Appy with various jobs.

To be fair, in many ways, I would not blame the guy if he had/does decide to take one of these vacancies but you cannot bemoan the 'constant speculation' linking you with jobs, such as Burnley, and be glad when an appointment is made if you are not doing that much to dismiss these talks. Not ruling out an interest point blank will see this speculation remain, if you do not want to take up a potential offer then you categorically deny an interest and 'rule yourself out' (for what its worth!) to end it, right?

'Emotion' is not something that Appy does show much of on the touchline but this has been lacking even more in recent weeks, he pretty much constantly stands there arms crossed doing little else - with little tactical moves made either!

I totally understand that he has been given a pretty raw deal since taking his first steps into management, as such you cannot blame him being a bit 'miffed' from time to time, but sometimes you just have to suck it up and crack on with it...

Lastly, and to end my grievances, I think the decision to play Scott Allan, just hours after he was involved in a car crash that has left someone critically injured, was a really, really strange one!

At best Allan probably should have been on the bench, in all honesty left out entirely I feel - perhaps Allan assured him he was 'mentally ready' but perhaps his sending off proved otherwise?

To finish I will once again stress that I am very much pro-Appy but its one-sided to only ever lavish praise on someone, you have to occasionally point out what you are not so happy about if you are unhappy with something...

At the risk of being shot at from all quarters, I detected a change in Appy's demeanour when it was announced that the PST were the preferred bidders. I know he was *****ed of with BC over the 'spending' money but I get the feeling that he thought Pompey would progress better with BC. (ducks behind the settee...). I think he'll leave if he gets a concrete offer from a decent club.
