Pompey bring back Allan

He is not quite the striker that was expected to come in for Pompey ahead of the game with Sheffield United tonight but Pompey have managed to bring in a player with attacking intent.

This loanee is also a familiar face to us in the form of Scott Allan.

West Brom have allowed us to take Allan on loan for an initial month, subject to 'Premier League and FA clearance' he will possibly be able to make his second debut tonight.

I liked the guy, and thought he did a job at championship level so am pretty sure that he will do well at this level too and am happy to see him return.

Allan featured against us recently during a brief spell with MK Dons, whilst I did not see this it was said to me that Allan began approaching the Pompey fans to applaud us for our efforts before he remembered he should not!

With that in mind I think a return to Fratton is not something he had to think too much about.

Welcome back Scott...

Not the striker we were all hoping for but a welcome re-addition to the squad.

Happy enough with this, decent player; and obviously like us! :-)

I really thought that Chris Maguire was on his way for a month, we are really short of strikers, and that is very worrying, surely Michael can find at least one decent striker who can give us a hand for a short period?

i like allan, and - like i said above - from the sounds of it he didnt take too much convincing to return, so thanks to WBA for agreeing a deal...
like Owens tho - good to hear from you! - i was hoping Appy was going to bring us in an out and our striker, the '99.9% certain' one from the championship he expect - then again if any club can fail with a 0.1% margin of error its pompey!

Hopefully he will be a good partner for Izale, lets be honest with Appy's typically ill thought PR gob once again open and aimed at Howe the old one isn't likely to be back. I had hoped for Maguire but never thought it would happen in truth.

I am afraid tonight we'll be short in attack.... I wonder if MA plays a 4-5-1 with Allan behind McLeod!
